Cardinal Talk Wednesday, Apr 2 2008

I’ve been listening to a podcast by two brothers called Cardinal Talk.  I don’t know how to put in a link to iTunes, but you can search for Cardinal Talk and it will come up.  Alternatively, you can listen to it here.  If you like the St. Louis Cardinals - or if you hate the Chicago Cubs - this is the podcast for you.  It’s great.

Also, let me encourage you to check out mlb.com either to watch or listen to MLB games.  You can subscribe to video for the whole season for $120 and to radio for the whole season for $15.  I just subscribed to the MLB radio.  I’m listening to Mike Shannon call the game right now (Ankiel just got a hit).  This is really wonderful.

Music, Redbirds, and Readability Tuesday, Mar 25 2008

Jon Foreman (of Switchfoot) released his third of four EPs today.  He has now released “Fall,” “Winter,” and “Spring.”  Guess what the last one is called?  I am listening to “Spring” for the first time right now, and it is really good.  The first two are great.  I highly recommend them.

In other somewhat belated news, I need to express my sheer joy at hearing that the St. Louis Cardinals signed Adam Wainwright to an extension.  The deal is apparently for four years, with club options for two more years.

Finally, I stumbled across a “Blog readability” tester.  I’d encourage you to test it out for yourself.  Apparently I am still stuck in the 7th grade:

Floods Friday, Mar 21 2008

Please do remember the St. Louis area in your prayers.  The pictures and stories of this flood reminds me of 1993.  Crazy times.  Here is a great video: http://www.kmov.com/video/topvideo-index.html?nvid=229141&shu=1.

Where’s Mom in Disney? Tuesday, Mar 18 2008

I ran across an interesting column in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch today that asks what Disney has against mothers.  It’s worth a read.

Blues Re-sign Jackman Monday, Feb 25 2008

I just read on the St. Louis Post-Dispatch website that the Blues re-signed Barret Jackman to a 4-year deal.  This is great news, and everyone who breathes should be excited.  Everyone.
